Chocs Ahoy!

Emma Brand is not a chocoholic but in the run-up to Easter she can’t get enough of the brown stuff.

Chocolate Festival
Stratford’s Chocolate Festival was tastier than it looks.

As a way of getting ready for Easter, what could be better than a chocolate festival? That’s right, a festival, just for chocolate. Even better, it was FREE.

The choc-tastic event happened in Victory Park, in Stratford’s Athletes’ Village on Saturday 19 March 2016 between 12 noon and 8pm.

There were activities for the whole family to enjoy. The day started with children’s activities including an Easter egg hunt and face painting.

Later there were adult activities including the adult Easter egg hunt and some chocolate modelling. Participants said ‘it was fun and we got free chocolate, so it was worth coming.’

Good to know that, where chocolate is concerned, adults are as easy to please as children!

Both Easter egg hunts took you round most of the Athletes’ Village so you got a good look at the whole area.

Local businesses such as Bottle Apostle, Fish House, Firezza, Darkhorse Resturant/ Bar, Mamalan, Tina We Salute You and Signorelli came to showcase what they had on offer for the Easter period.

Firezza were premiering their chocolate pizza, Fish House had battered, bite sized pieces and Mamalan were making chocolate dumplings. Signorelli had an Almond Sourdough and Darkhorse Resturant/Bar offered chocolate-themed drinks.

The day certainly got the attendees excited at the prospect of more chocolate for Easter.
