Kwame Kufuor reports on the clash between Charlton’s and Queens Park Rangers U-21s.

Charlton Athletic will hope to continue from where they left off by extending their lead on top of the Professional Development League Two Table South to 11 points against QPR.

The Addicks recently had their games against Cardiff City and Watford postponed. Their home game against Cardiff City was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Charlton’s away game against Watford was also postponed due to the Hornets not being able to provide a venue for the clash and it will be rearranged for a later date in the season.

The postponed game against Watford would have seen the return of Jason Euell back in charge of the development squad at Charlton.

Impressive

Euell was in charge before he was promoted to join Charlton’s first team coaching staff on a temporally basis, and took the position of Interim first-team coach.

They recorded an impressive 2-1 victory over Brentford in their last outing with goals from, Ademola Lookman and inform striker, Josh Umerah.

Queens Park Rangers U-21s are eighth in the League with 27 points, 16 points apart from the top spot and have played two more games than Charlton.

They are going into the game on Monday afternoon having lost in a nine-goal thriller at Harlington against Bristol City last Monday.

The two teams met late last year and Charlton recorded a narrow win from Brandon Hanlan’s goal just at the stroke of half time.

Rangers’ coach Paul Hall hope his side can improve on their last outing against the Addicks by claiming all three points.
