This weekend’s showdown will be the first match in 14 days for Charlton following the postponement of their League One fixture against Scunthorpe last week due to a frozen pitch.

After enduring a tough start in South-East London, Robinson’s side are unbeaten in their last four league fixtures and are on somewhat of a roll heading into this weekend’s match.

Injury Woes

The two sides met earlier on in August, with the spoils shared 1-1 at The Valley. Both sides have endured very different fortunes since the early season encounter, with the Addicks currently slumped in 14th place in the League One table whilst their opponents currently occupy 3rd place with games in hand on the teams surrounding them.

Centre-back Jason Pearce remains on the side-lines with a long term groin injury while winger Jordan Botaka is still unavailable for selection due to his international commitments to Congo as they prepare for the quarter-final of the Africa Cup of Nations.

A win for Charlton will enhance their possible yet improbable task of securing a play-off place as the side aim to return to the Championship. On the other hand, Phil Parkinson’s side will be vying for all three points to maintain the pressure on 2nd place Scunthorpe and league leaders Sheffield United.

Be sure not to miss what looks to be a very intriguing contest when the sides lock horns at the Macron Stadium at 3pm this Saturday.
