BBL And WBBL Finals On The Red Button

Sead Dizdarevic reports on the news that the BBL and WBBL playoff finals will be shown on the BBC via the red button.

Following the success of last year’s playoff final where an estimated, 15,000 fans attended at the O2 Arena to watch the London Lions taking on the Newcastle Eagles, the BBC have announced that the games will be shown via the red button and online.

This will provide British basketball with some much needed exposure, and the reach to out to fans at home from the comfort of their sofas.

As well as airing both finals, the annual Hoops Aid game will be played which will feature a number of celebrities and ex-professionals raising money for charity.

The BBL and WBBL playoff finals will take place on May 8th at the O2 Arena. The Men’s final is expected to have a tip off time at 3:30pm and the women’s final tipping off at 6pm

The games will be aired live on the BBC via the red button and streamed online via the BBC website at www.bbc.co.uk/sport
