Biggest Test Yet For UEL Titans

Jahin Shamsuddin previews the UEL Titans last regular season game against a dominant Canterbury

UEL Titans

Confidence is sky high right now for the UEL Titans as they defeated the Anglia Ruskin Rhinos 19-3 in a match in which the defence dominated. Now, they must take their attention to the unbeaten Canterbury Christ Church who are 1st in the division having won five out of five games.

Dominant Force

The Chargers are the second best University team in England in their respective league. Canterbury Christ Church have won their last eight games in a row with their last win coming against the University of Greenwich as a result of a walkover, as Greenwich were unable to field a team.

Meanwhile, the UEL Titans are now 3-2 on the season and are sitting 3rd in the table behind Queen Mary University. They gave a defensive masterclass against Anglia Ruskin having forced seven turnovers and three interceptions. The win has boosted the Titans confidence after they had two successive defeats.

Ready for an Upset

The run game for the Titans worked tremendously against the Rhinos and it is something they must continue if they want any chance of causing an upset. It will help that their starting Running Back, Paul Bannerman will return after he missed the last game. This will give the Titans three great options in the backfield with Hopkin, Bolessa and Bannerman.

The meeting between Canterbury Christ Church and the UEL Titans will be the first meeting between the two sides and it looks to be a promising match up. Canterbury Christ Church are the home team and kick off is at 3:00pm.
