Charlton Take On Cardiff

Kwame Kufuor previews the clash between Charlton U21 and Cardiff City U21.

Charlton’s u21 welcome Cardiff City u21 to Sparrows Lane tonight, as they play their second League game inside a week.

The Addicks sit at the top of the Professional Development League Two South with nine points separating them from Millwall and Cardiff.

A win for Jason Euell’s side will see them moving closer to winning the League Two South title.

Cardiff City U21 side are soaring high in the League. The last time both sides met in an U21 League game was last year in October, with the Addicks taking all three points.

The Addicks, opened their account through Joshua Staunton, before the prolific Ademola Lookman added a second. Cardiff got a goal back courtesy of Eli Phipps.

Euell, who hasn’t lost a game since he took over, is going into the game at the back off a draw against Huddersfield on Monday at the Valley.

Nilton Terroso, the head coach of the Cardiff City development side goes into the game after thrashing Crewe Alexandra 4-0 on Monday.

Cardiff will be hoping to use the game to cut down the gap between themselves and The Addicks to six points and possibly push for the title.

However, Charlton will be hoping for a win to increase the gap between them and Millwall to 12 points, which will take the Addicks a step closer to the League Two title.
