Charlton U21’s On For The Double

Kwame Kufuor previews the Kent Senior Cup final between Charlton and Dartford, in a game where the Addicks can secure a season with a cup double.

Newly crowned U21 Professional Development League 2 South champions, Charlton, will battle it out against Dartford in the Kent Senior Cup final.

Jason Euell’s men are aiming to do the double after been crowned champions last week, even though they lost their last game away at Watford.

The Addicks are now one step away from defending the trophy they won last year. A single goal from Karlan Ahearne-Grant was enough to see off an experienced Gillingham side in the final last year.

The newly crowned champions go into the final after putting Cray Wanderers, Hythe Town and Bromley to the sword.

Dartford’s progression to the final included defeating Welling, Greenwich Borough and Gillingham. and the side who currently sit seventh in the National League will try their luck against the Addicks.

Tony Burman’s Dartford side currently sit seventh in the National League and are one of the eight teams attempting to get into the play-offs after drawing 2 -2 against Oxford City over the weekend with one game still to go.

Euell on the other hand, hopes the defeat they suffered at Watford on Friday won’t have any effect on their performance at Princes Park come Tuesday night.
