Daggers Boss Looks To Positive Future

Dagenham & Redbridge have been busy over the past week, after they announced contract extensions for seven players, of whom five are first team members. Uways Nisar reports.

This season’s key players have agreed to extend their stay with the east London team. Forwards Fejiri Okenabirhie and Corey Whitely  have accumulated 15 goals between them and have been vital in helping the side to remain promotion candidates for this season.

Matt Robinson, Elliot Justham, and Andre Bouchard are the other first-team players to have accepted a contract extension. Academy players, Tyrique Hyde and Joe White, were also offered extensions, after being granted first-team action this season. All contracts have been extended up until 2019, barring Hyde whose contract has been extended till the end of next season.

Daggers’ manager John Still was keen to look to the future, with regards to the new deals. Speaking to the Barking and Dagenham Post he said:

“I want to be able to look back in seven or eight years like I did when I was here before and we had two promotions, lots of players sold and the club had done its job on and off the pitch, and that it what I want to create once again.”
