With a point to prove, John Still’s side return to the Chigwell Construction Stadium after coming up short against Gateshead last weekend.
In an edgy and tentative battle, the Daggers gave it their all, but ultimately, succumbed to yet another disappointing loss, this time losing 1-0 away in the North East.
The discouraging loss left the east Londoners in fourth place with five points separating them from the league leaders Lincoln. The table toppers also boast two games in hand over the east-London outfit.
Having lost three of their last four matches, the Daggers will be desperate to pick up all three points on Saturday in a bid to sustain this title challenge.
And while it may not be a must a win just yet with a handful of games yet to be played, a loss would surely dent their hopes of claiming automatic promotion this season with teams strengthening and finding rhythm around them.
The last time both clubs met was at the start of the season where the club from the Essex borders earned a hard point away from home.
The visitors Forest Green, stand as a formidable opponent. They travel to Dagenham with an excellent record, having won four of their last five fixtures, including a 3-0 demolition of Macclesfield last weekend.
With an abundance of important fixtures still to be played this season, it probably isn’t time to throw in the towel and settle for a playoff position just yet for Still and his gutted Daggers.
However, failure to collect all three points on Saturday will surely be the definitive blow to this current title challenge.
