Daggers Enter A Crucial Period

Dagenham & Redbridge look to extend their great run of form against Chester, as Uways Nisar reports.

Dagenham & Redbridge have been in brilliant form recently, as they are unbeaten so far in 2017. They are close to making it four consecutive wins, after a 2-0 win away at promotion rivals Tranmere Rovers, which should help boost confidence going in to a crucial period.

This weekend’s match against Chester will be important for the East Londoners, as they can close the gap between league leaders Lincoln City, to just three points.

This fixture is the beginning of a crucial run of games that sees the Daggers face three consecutive bottom-half teams, Southport, Guiseley and Bromley. This is a chance for the team to grab vital points, as they seek to gain automatic promotion.

It was not a busy transfer window for the Daggers, but they were successful in managing to keep hold of star striker Oliver Hawkins, who is currently the third-highest scorer in the league with 17 goals in 27 appearances.

In stark contrast, Chester are faltering and have only managed just one win in their last five games, accumulating three losses and a draw. However, the Cheshire side did beat the Daggers 3-0 in the reverse fixture at the start of the season.
