Daggers Take to the Tyne

Dagenham & Redbridge travel away to Gateshead, where they hope to bounce back from their loss at home on Tuesday night to Maidstone. Muhammad Nisar reports.

The east Londoners are coming off the back of their defeat to relegation threatened Maidstone who ran out comfortable 2-0 winners in another stuttering home performance.

It was a missed opportunity for the Daggers as they could have closed the gap on National League leaders Lincoln City, who at the same time managed only a draw at home to York city.

Searching

The Daggers travel to Tyne and Wear in search of their fourth consecutive win on the road. Their last away defeat was on Boxing Day.

However, goals have been hard to come by for the Londoners in recent games with just three in their last three games, whilst they have also conceded five.

Closing the gap

Their opponents, Gateshead sit in eighth place, looking for their fifth consecutive win in the National League, a feat that will close the gap to sixth-place Dover to just one point.

Victory for Dagenham will see them close the gap to Lincoln to just one point, albe it with two games more played.

Both teams have only played each other once, back in the start of this season. It was the Daggers who suffered a 5-0 defeat to the visiting Gateshead.
