Thurrock Suffer From Half Time Amnesia

Ollie Rudgewick reflects on Thurrock’s torrid weekend and looks ahead to their next important tie…

Thurrock suffered their third straight defeat damaging their playoff hopes as they slip out of the playoff places, after they lost 4-1 away to Harlow Town.

Mark Stimpson criticised his sides second half performance at the weekend which saw them concede three goals in 10 minutes.

“We knew going to Harlow would be a test as they are on a fantastic run. But at half time leading 1-0 and looking solid, what happened in the second half was not in the game plan or half time talk.” Stimpson commented on the club’s website.

Goals from Junior Dadson, Mario Noto, Alex Read and a Remi Sutton own goal cancelled out Ronnie Winn’s early opener and his fourth goal of the season.

The result sees Thurrock drop out of the play-off places on goal difference with four defeats in their last six matches, but they do have games in hand and will look to climb back into the top five.

Thurrock’s next match is against is away to Witham Town, with the Fleet looking to regain some form after losing the reverse fixture 2-1 just 10 days ago.

Witham Town vs Thurrock will take place on 16th February 19:45 at The Village Glass Stadium.
