High Flying Barking Look to Continue Cup Run

Sawbridgeworth Town will host high-flyers Barking FC in what should be a challenging fixture in the Essex Senior League Quarter-Final on Tuesday night. Shell Tshela reports.

In-form Barking will be confident ahead of their cup visit to Sawbridgeworth Town after a strong 3-0 victory against Southend Manor in the league last weekend. The Blues, currently sit at the top of the league table have been on a fantastic run, securing one of their biggest wins against Burnham Ramblers FC as they stormed to a 8-1 victory.

Sawbridgeworth Town’s side on the other hand, currently sit fifth in the league table, and have had mixed performances and inconsistent results, with one of the biggest defeats coming against Burnham Ramblers FC where they lost 4-2. Town’s biggest win came in a 6-2 win against Redbridge FC.

Victory

The two teams have already met in the league where it ended 1-2 in favour of the Sawbridgeworth Town FC back in January; scorers Lewis Deamer and Daryl Doolan grabbed the victory.

Both sides go into this game without any injuries issues and a full squad of players at their disposal. The game will be a great test for Barking as they will be hoping to convert their great run of form in the league into this cup game, but Sawbridgeworth Town will surely be a tough opponent for the away side as they will be fighting for a chance to get in the semi-final as the Blues look to be the dark horse in the Essex Senior League cup.
