There were wins for Leyton Sixth Form, Havering and George Monoux College in the latest round of Essex CCB/UEL Indoor League at UEL’s SportsDock.

Leyton Sixth Form restricted George Monoux to 70, Rameez Rehman top-scoring with 22, and bowled them all out inside nine overs.

In response, Leyton reached the total with three balls to spare, as Sohaib Kayami and Yasir Kayani saw their side over the line, ending on eight and seven not out respectively.

George Monoux bounced back soon after to secure a 23-run victory over Havering, with Rehman (26) and Sanam Ali (26) both retiring after reaching 25.

K Khan also retired but returned later in the innings to end on 41 not out, helping his team post an impressive 123 from their 10 overs.

Havering lost early wickets with Hanif Khan (1-15) the pick of the bowlers.

It appeared the game was set for a tight finish when George Maydell added 40 inside two overs as the last man. However, he had been left too much to do and was dismissed for 48 with his team still 24 runs short of victory.

Meanwhile, Havering themselves quickly bounced back from an earlier loss to beat Barking and Dagenham College.

Barking and Dagenham batted first, although were only able to post 51 as Harry Murphy (2-23) and Maydell (1-19) restricted them through some tight, disciplined bowling.

Havering looked to be making hard work of their run-chase, as J Khan (2-10) put them under pressure, but in the end they did manage to seal a relatively comfortable victory with nine balls to spare.
