Millwall Lionesses will be looking to extend their unbeaten league run to 15 games on Sunday when they host North-East side Durham Women in a top-of-the-table clash.

The Lionesses go in to the game with good momentum after thrashing London rivals Tottenham Hotspur Ladies 4-1 last weekend.

Millwall had started the game against Spurs in the best possible way after three minutes, when Amber Gaylor headed the ball in. The Lilywhites got back in to the game after half time thanks to Sarah Wiltshire. However, super sub Charlie Devlin came off the bench to score two great goals, with Megan Wynne sealing the victory with the last kick of the game for The Lionesses.

Durham haven’t played since January 7th when they travelled to Oxford United. Durham came out on top that day winning the game 4-2 thanks to a brace from Zoe Ness and goals from Beth Hepple and Sarah Robson.

Consistent

Millwall have been on incredible league form lately, winning all five of their last five games, putting them second in the league and just a point behind league leaders Doncaster Rovers Belles (WWWWW).

The Lionesses will need to carry on their perfect form to stop Durham from closing the gap in the league with The Wildcats third in the table and three points behind Millwall, but with a game in hand over the South-East London side. Durham’s recent results have seen them win three, draw one and lose one (LWWDW).

Millwall’s Devlin and Ashlee Hincks are currently leading the goal scoring charts for The Lionesses in all competitions. With five goals each they will be looking to increase that tally this weekend.

The game takes place on Sunday January 28th, with kick-off scheduled for 12pm at St Paul’s Sports Ground, Rotherhithe.
