Connor MacKay reports as the London Lions look to bounce back after their BBL Cup exit with a win against Plymouth Raiders…

After being knocked out of the BBL Cup semi-finals by Leicester Riders the Lions must now focus on overcoming an inform Plymouth side who have won their last two games.

The Lions will look to add to their league form after beating Surrey 95-61 prior to the BBL Cup game and climb closer to the third spot in the BBL Championship Ladder. They are currently six points behind Worcester Wolves.

London Lions travelled up to Plymouth for the first game of season back in September, where they enjoyed a ten point win. Their power forwards and centres were the main reason for winning as London played the ball inside, controlling the posts and making forcing oppotunities.

Plymouth managed to beat Cheshire Phoenix in a hard fought game 86-80 behind player coach Daryl Corletto’s team high 18 points.

However they did endure a bye week meaning they will play twice in the space of two days on the 11th and 13th of December which could affect the fatigue of the Plymouth players.

Lions star Jamal Williams will be looking to have similar performance to the one against Surrey where he scored 19 points and he could be the difference for the London side.

London Lions face the Plymouth Raiders on Sunday the 13th December at 16.00pm at the Copper Box Arena.
