Lions Look To Take A Bite Out Of Sharks

London Lions

Connor Mackay previews an important match for the London Lions.

The London Lions will be back at the CopperBox Arena for the first time since the mi-season break. They will be facing a Sheffield Sharks side, who are unbeaten in their last seven games.

The first game between these two was at the EIS Sheffield centre in December. Sheffield won by a fine margin of 69-66, following a masterpiece performance from John Barber and Mike Cook. Cook could again be the danger man for the Sharks as he is averaging 16.5 points per game for the season.

Lions’ star player Demond Watt dominated the paint in their last game away at Cheshire Phoenix, finishing with a solid 15 points which provided the Lions with a 76-70 win over the Cheshire side.

The Lions will be looking for a similar performance from Watt, as he could be the key to pushing the Lions up the table.

Currently sixth in the table, a win for the Lions could see them go fifth with the playoffs edging closer. The London side come into this game in good form, having won their previous two. They will be looking to add to their streak as well as snapping the Sharks unbeaten run.

This will be the first of a four-game home stretch for the Lions.

  • Tip-off is at 7:30pm Friday 5th February at the CopperBox Arena
