Simon Eaves previews the weekend fixture…

New Charlton boss Guy Luzon will be able to take charge of his first game for Charlton away at Wolves this weekend. The Israeli had work permit problems so was unable to take charge for the 5-0 loss against Watford at Vicarage Road.

Luzon’s men are travelling to Molineux without a win in their last 10 matches, losing their previous four outings. They will be looking for their first win in 11 weeks on the road, after failing to claim three points on their travels since beating Reading 1-0 in early November.

The Addicks will have new loan signing Milos Veljkovic available. The Serbian U21 international has joined Charlton from Tottenham until the end of the season. Veljkovic, 19, spent the first part of the season at Middlesbrough.

Wolves, however, are currently in fine form. They’ve won their last four encounters and haven’t lost a game in 7. After a bad November, Kenny Jackett’s men have climbed back up the table and a win on Saturday will see them move into the play-off places, if other results go their way.

David Edwards is the danger man of whom Luzon must be wary during his first game in charge, having scored four in his last three appearances. Charlton will have to find a way to break the oppositions defence as well: Wolves have conceded once in the last five Championship games.

Molineux has been a fortress this season for the Midlands outfit, only dropping 15 points all season, picking up 24 from a possible 39 on offer.

As for the head to head, the teams have met 75 times. Wolves are much more successful in this fixture winning 38 with Charlton winning 20. The teams have played out draws in the other 17 meetings including a 1-1 draw earlier on in the season at the Valley.

Carl Ikeme is the player who has a link to both teams. The Wolves goalkeeper was on loan at Charlton in 2009/10 season making four appearances.
