From the 27th-29th October, the biannual MCM will take place at London’s ExCel Centre at Royal Victoria Dock.

Each year, it’s exciting to see East London turning into an international pop culture hub, with people from all over the world descending on Newham to celebrate everything from films and music to games and anime.

MCM is also an opportunity for collectors to come together and peruse the thousands of stalls selling comics, entertainment-related collectibles, retro gaming gear, and specially-commissioned art pieces.

This year there is a star-studded line-up including Anthony Mackie (The Avengers, The Hurt Locker), David Bradley (Game of Thrones, Doctor Who) and Stefan Kapičić (Deadpool).

Also starring are internet personalities such as Thomas ‘Tomska’ Ridgewell, Queen Creeps, Weebl’s Stuff and Eddsworld’s Matt Hargreaves.

Cosplay is another popular aspect of Comic Conventions. Fans from around the globe flock together in the guise of their favourite superhero (or villain) with intricately-detailed costumes to match.

Developers and publishers including Nintendo, Sony, Rising Star Games and Bandai Namco will be appearing as part of the Gaming Expo. In previous years, MCM has been an opportunity to check new games coming out of Japan, long before their scheduled release in the UK.

Both single-day and weekend tickets are available. Please note that attractions such as guest signings and photo sessions often carry an added cost.
