Kwame Kufuor previews the much anticipated match between 1st place Charlton U21’s and 2nd place Millwall U21’s…

Charlton’s U21s are looking to extend their lead at the top of Professional Development League 2 South when they travel to Millwall U21 on Saturday.

The Addicks currently hold an eight-point lead against second place Millwall. Even though the lions do have a game in hand, a further three points away at Monday’s fixture will see Jason Euell’s side extend their lead almost out of reach..

Charlton hopes their rich vein of form continues away at The Den. They will look to continue from where they left off last week Monday when they brutally dismissed Queens Park Rangers 3-0 at the VCD Athletics grounds.

Euell was given a warm welcome back from the home fans, but the atmosphere away at the Den will be vibrant as Millwall will be looking to close the gap down to five points.

The two sides met in a league match earlier this year at Sparrows Lane, which ended 1-1 stalemate. It was the Addick’s that took the lead with a Joe Pigott close range finish in the second half but the Lion’s John Marquis cancelled out his effort moments later.

Millwall had their game against Colchester United postponed, but will also be looking to continue from where they left off last time when they demolished Brentford in a three goal thriller.

Charlton manager, Euell will be hoping to maintain their lead while Millwall’s elite development manager, Justine Skinner hopes to keep the Lion’s in touching distance.

The match kicks off on Monday 15th March at 14.00.
