O’s Go For The Perfect Ten

Lucy Huggins looks forward to top-of-the-table clash between Orient women and Crawley Wasps.

Leyton Orient Women host top-of-the table Crawley Wasps this weekend.

The Wasps  currently lead the O’s by five points, however Orient sit in second in the table with 27 points and  have five games in hand on their opponents this Sunday, due to a glut of postponements which left Orient without a match for the past two weeks.

Winning this Sunday against Crawley Wasp’s would put the O’s on a 10- game winning streak in the league, and vuctories in all their 10 league games this season. Orient will be hoping top scorer Sophie Le Marchand finds her best form and adds to her total of 29 goals this season.

The last time the two teams met in the league in October 2016, Orient grabbed all three points by beating the Wasps by four goals to one on the day. Crawley did have the upper hand in the first half of that game but in truth failed to take full advantage of their dominance.

Crawley’s one-to-watch Roseanna Fine has scored 20 goals in 17 appearances this season, so the O’s will be aiming to put a stop to her fine form.
