O’s Manager Reviews Strong Season Start

O's Manger Chris Brayford talks about Leyton Orient's strong start to the season with Abu Kamara

With Christmas fast approaching the Leyton Orient women are still unbeaten in the league with eight victories in eight games.

The O’s are also the only team in the league not have dropped points since the start of the season.

With such impressive winning streak their only defeat this season came in the Cup game against in form Tottenham Hotspur. Considering they played a team a league above them, losing 2-0 on the day, the result was taken on the chin by O’s manger Chris Brayford:

“You know we are playing a side who are top of their league with ambitions of going into the WSL (Women’s Super League) obviously they are operating from a far greater resource base in terms of the finances and facilities and personnel they have”, Brayford on the quality of spurs.

Red Hot

Brayford has been impressed with Orient’s form so far:

“From a result perspective couldn’t really ask for anymore they’ve won every game, we have only conceded four goals this season two of them against spurs”, Brayford says with a smile on his face.

Whether the O’s can maintain their impressive win rate and move up through the table is still up for debate, but Brayford knows it’s key. Speaking after their 4-0 victory against Eastbourne Town on Sunday Brayford acknowledged:

“It’s important we do kick on, and from a league perspective that’s eight games eight wins”

“Within that we still got to play the other sides one more time, what am pleased with we haven’t played Corinthians but apart from that we have played all our league rivals and we have beaten them all, the key thing is to keep the consistency through the Christmas period”.

With the O’s firmly top of the league with 24 points and two games in hand on the Crawley Wasps who sit in second on 22 points, promotion is almost guaranteed if they can keep their red hot form through the Christmas period.
