Preview: Millwall FC face Southend Utd in the first-round of the FA Cup

Alex-Louise Dibden previews tonight's clash between Millwall and Southend.

Less than seven weeks ago, Millwall travelled to Southend for a League One match. Losing 3-1 on the day was the beginning of a murky September with the Lions not picking up any points until their win against Northampton nearly a month later.

Millwall will be seeking revenge. They’ve won three of their last four games and will be looking to carry that momentum into tonight’s match.

They’ll hope playing at home works in their favour after losing only three times in all competitions at The Den this season.

Southend have had a similar run. The Shrimpers are unbeaten in their last four games, and with midfielder Michael Timlin set to make a return from injury, they look like they could make a repeat of their 4-1 third-round FA Cup triumph in the same fixture at Roots Hall three seasons ago.

Kick off is at 19:45.
