The London Ultra Low Emission Zone started two years ago in central London in an effort to combat the poor air quality in the area. The London ULEZ is a charge that vehicle owners have to pay if their vehicle fails to meet Transport For London’s exhaust emissions regulations. Petrol vehicles need to have a Euro 4 engine to be approved and Diesel vehicles a Euro 6 engine.

The London ULEZ expanded last month to the North and South Circular roads, affecting the area of East Ham. Rising East got the opinion of their Labour MP, Stephen Timms on his view.
