So What (there’s a fire)? Tell Me Something Really Important

Negedu Ibrahimova reports

After the amazing Freshers, the excessive parties at UEL (obviously I’m being sarcastic), to top off all the fun, there was…wait for it…A FIRE! Don’t slap me, I’m not trivialising death or injury. Nobody was hurt, so I can say what I like.

I actually didn’t know anything about the fire until I logged on to Facebook this morning. The student I travelled in with rolled her eyes about her wasted journey, but conceded that she was ‘happy to go back to bed’. I honestly was a bit disappointed that my own class wasn’t cancelled but the fire was in East Building, which remains closed, whereas my session is in the West. That’s how come I’m typing and writing right now. Still, perhaps I won’t be able to hand in my God-awful coursework (the hand-in desk is in East not West), but I expect UEL will set up some other place for me to hand it into, unfortunately.

There’s no DLR between Canning Town and Beckton this weekend. That is more life-changing, to be honest.
