UEL students showed their work at Animafest for the first time

Animafest is a world-famous animated film festival which takes place each summer in Zagreb, Croatia. The second oldest animation festival in the world, it was initiated by the International Animated Film Association (ASIFA) in 1972.

This year the work of five UEL animation students was entered for the festival by their lecturer Pooja Pottenkulam. Eloise Garlick, Peter Smith, Miles Fleet, Lauren Street and Agata Angielska received funding under the Going Global scheme, which paid for their flights to Croatia and accommodation in Zagreb.

The festival programme included a screening of their joint project, ‘The People We Know’, which is made up of five 90-second animated films.
