Struggling Dagenham Hope for a Miracle

Dagenham and Redbridge travel to playoff hopefuls AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night in desperate need of a win, as Simon Eaves reports.

The Daggers will be boosted by the return of Trinidad and Tobago internationals, Justin Hoyte and Andre Boucaud, for Tuesday’s clash against Wimbledon.

Hoyte could go straight into the starting XI to add much-needed cover at the back. The former Arsenal defender was left out of the team in the weekend’s loss against Oxford United, after being deemed not ready to play following international duty.

Boucaud will also be pushing for a start. Republic of Ireland U21, Jack Connors, will also be hoping for a place in the 16-man squad.

With the pressure piling on manager Wayne Burnett, the Daggers desperately need points as they sit bottom of League Two without a win in their last ten games.

AFC Wimbledon will be without Andy Barchan and James Shea due to injury.

The Dons, who haven’t lost in their last five, look to welcome back Jake Reeves who is available after serving a one-match suspension for picking up five yellow cards this season.

Ade Azeez will be pushing for a start also. Azeez came on as a substitute against Wycombe at the weekend and rescued a point for the Dons.

Playoff

Anthony Stewart will also be pushing for a place in the XI after his return from a knee injury which has kept him out since August.

Wimbledon can move into the playoff places if results go for them.

Dagenham could see themselves move out of the bottom two with a win, as long as Yeovil and York both fail to win or draw.

Dagenham have failed to win in their previous four visits to Kingsmeadow. In this fixture last season, the Daggers lost 1-0 thanks to a Barry Fuller goal
