Support for Stephen

On Monday I went down to the Home Office to join a demonstration organised by a Newham student – Naomi Tomlinson – to stop her Vietnemese foster brother “Stephen” from being returned to Vietnam.

Around 50 people attended the London demonstration, because they could not get to the north, where the appeal was being heard.

However, by the end of the day no decision had been made. The appeal has been postponed in order to reinterview Stephen.

Naomi wrote to Rising East to say that this decision was causing great anxiety to the family. But this demonstration, along with over 110,000 signatures on an online petition, shows that support for Stephen is growing.

If you want to sign the petition follow the link below:https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/allow-shildon-s-stephen-to-stay-in-uk
