Joel Adesina (15) from Dagenham was pronounced dead hours after being stabbed in the abdomen during a street fight in Bethnal Green on Friday 5 December.
The coroner’s report released on Monday 8 December identified the cause of death as a stab wound to the liver.
The fight is reported to have been between Adesina and his group of friends and the occupants of an unidentified car. It seems to have started on Padbury Walk before spilling out on to Bethnal Green Road.
The victim ran into a nearby corner shop screaming for help and holding his wound.
An 18-year-old male was arrested at the scene of the crime on 5 December. On Saturday 8 December three further arrests were made, of a 24-year-old woman and two males aged 23 and 24.
Friends and family used twitter and other social media to pay tribute to the victim.
Having conducted a forensic examination of the area, police are appealing for further information.
