Abu Kamara reports on another managerial casualty at the Matchroom Stadium

East London League Two side Leyton Orient have sacked their manger Ian Hendon.

Hendon departs after winning only four of his last 21 league games in charge. Assistant manager Andy Hessenthaler has been placed in a caretaker position of the O’s

The club has issued a statement on their website thanking Hendon for his “commitment and passion during his time at Leyton Orient.

“The coaching and management team will continue to focus on realising the full potential of the team, and will be working intensively to enhance the club’s performance and position in the league,”

Former O’s player Hendon was appointed in May, only managed to win 10 of his 31 games in charge. His final match was the 3-1 defeat to Exeter at home on Saturday.

Hendon took charge at the end of last season’s relegation campaign. He and the side started the new season well, winning their first five games in the league but results soon slipped.

The departure means Orient have had six managers since Italian Francesco Becchetti became the owner in the summer of 2014.

Sky bet has Paolo Di Canio as 2/1 Favourite to be the next permanent manger, and former Wigan manger Malky Mackay at 16/1.
