Pressure On As UEL Hockey Fight For Top Spot

2018 has posed a challenging start to the year for University of East London Hockey as the two most important games of the season are just in arms reach.

UEL’s biggest rivals, City 1st, currently sit top of the table and could secure promotion if they win just one of their next two fixtures.

It’s up to UEL to put the pressure on City 1st with a win in their next game against Queen Mary 3rd on the 7th of February.

If City lose this week and UEL win then the east Londoners have a good chance of getting themselves promoted if they’re also victorious in their final game of the season.

With promotion for UEL dependent on City scorelines captain Isaac Charles said:

“We feel the pressure for sure, however we are comfortable with the thought that if we focus on our game we can do all we can to pursue our much wanted promotion”.

City’s actions hold the future for UEL’s dreams of promotion. It will be a case of who’s able to handle the pressure best.

Here is a breakdown of what could happen for both teams.
