Leyton Orient are set to make the short trip across East London to face fellow non-Leaguers Dagenham & Redbridge in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round.
The Daggers will undoubtedly come into the tie as favourites, owing to home advantage and a rocky start to the season for Leyton Orient. The O’s have slipped to 17th in the National League, with seven losses in just 15 games. Orient will welcome the game as a chance to put a stop to their poor form, with Steve Davis’s side finding themselves without a win in seven, a run that stretches back to early September.
Meanwhile, Dagenham’s early season form sees them sit pretty in the play-off positions, in 6th. Dagenham are faultering slightly, having won neither of their last two games, results which has seen the side drop down in the early season table.
Leyton Orient are looking to stretch their good form against Dagenham, with John Still’s side seeking their first victory in seven games against Orient, a run stretching back to September 2010
For the Daggers, this is a chance to finally get one over their neighbours, having failed to ever come out on top against Leyton Orient in the FA Cup, a run of four games. On the other hand, Orient will welcome the game as a chance to put a stop to their poor form.
Both clubs haven’t endured the best of fortunes in recent years, and this cup tie is sure to give both sides hope of catapulting themselves into contention for promotion to League 2.
