The Men’s Rugby side go into the tie with UA full of confidence, as Ben Smith reports

Form

After a comprehensive 17-0 victory at home against Essex 2nds, UEL’s 1st team will be looking to carry that momentum into their next game away at University of Arts 1sts. University of Arts have lost both games they’ve played and have a -55 point difference.

Past season

UEL were content with their season as they finished 4th and maintained their place in their division, South Eastern 5B. University of Arts had a disappointing season as they were relegated in drastic fashion.

Permutations

Both Kent 3rd XI and Essex 2nds have tough games this Wednesday and if they both lose, UEL 1sts could go outright 2nd and form a points gap between them and their league rivals. However, a first win of the season for University of Arts could see them move out the relegation zone.

UEL confident

UEL are assured that they can claim victory away at UAL. UEL full back Harry Agar told Rising East:  “The team are confident, the players are bonding well and for them, they’ve lost both games, so we are quietly confident we can beat them. At the end of the day though, it comes to the mind-set and effort on the day”.

Prediction

This should be a comfortable win for UEL after a resounding victory last week and an unlucky first game away at Greenwich. UAL are lacking confidence and seem to be in freefall. Prediction – UAL 5- 29 UEL
