UEL Look To Make Headway Against Medway

Alastair Chin reports on UELs crucial up-coming home game.

UEL’s men’s Badminton team face University of Medway at home on March 1st with the chance to go to the summit of the table. The East London side will look to take full advantage of their game in hand.

Recap

With their last match against Kings’ resulting in a 5-3 triumph, confidence levels in the UEL camp are high as they beat their closest rivals in a grudge match which saw both teams emotions running high as they battled for glory.

During the encounter a heated exchange between doubles player Alvin Lee and Kings’ number one singles player forced the Kings’ captain to make a formal complaint to the BUCS league. With that situation resolved, UEL can now move forward onto their next game hoping to win.

Having travelled to Gillingham to play their opponents last time out, Medway come to Sportsock. UEL’s previous result against the visitors was a 7-1 victory, and the home side will be favourite going into the game but will have to be sharp to ensure they don’t slip up.

With the game a week away, it is unsure what the selected six players will be but the team will be raring to go and fully fit to take on what is to be a crucial game in the season.

UEL’s main aim is to gain promotion and in order to do that they will have to stay undefeated for their final three games. It is now in their own hands after their victory over Kings.
