UEL 2nds Looking For A Return to Form

Rising East reporter Muhammad Nisar previews The University of East London Football team 2nds upcoming game against Brunel University 1st team.

University of East London 2nd’s football squad face Brunel University’s 1st team in a crucial early season away game in the race for promotion in BUCS division South Eastern 4D.

UEL Manager Shamajul Motin has received mixed team news ahead of Wednesday’s game, as vice-captain Jamal Adu is sidelined with a groin injury. This was followed by the good news with return of goalkeeper, Keola Parades.

Speaking to Rising East UEL 2nd’s Captain, Stephen McGuinn concedes that Jamal Adu will be missed in the tie.

“He’s a big loss in the middle of the pitch but we have some good players moving up that I believe are well capable of filling his boots.”

All to Play For

UEL 2nds have had mixed results in their first two games of the season, having produced an emphatic 9-2 win against Essex 3rds in their opening game, and then losing 4-3 to Goldsmith University in their last match.

Brunel 1st have only played one game this season which was against early table toppers, Goldsmith 1st. Brunel fared much better at the back than UEL, losing 1-0 in a tightly played contest.

A win for UEL 2nds and a slip up from rivals, Goldsmith 1st could see the east Londoners go joint top of the table.
