UEL men’s first are strongly prepared and determined to bring the victory back to East London as a fight to go through to the next round takes place this Wednesday. UEL are hoping to win the first cup game of the 2017/18 season and preparation is key.

Training hard

The boys in blue train every Monday at their home ground; Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis centre, Queen Elizabeth Park. Captain Isaac Charles told how hard the team have been training and what their hopes are for the match. “We are pushing to get rid of the silly mistakes we have been known to make when conceding.

“Our main aim for the game is to make the opposition work for the ball, make sure they will be tired out quicker than us and work faster on the counter attack.”

The competition

Imperial 4th (Medics) are currently in fourth position in the South Eastern 4A league. They have played three games this season winning one, drawing zero and losing two. They have a goal difference of -8 and a total of three points.
