UEL Seek Semi-Finals Place

Tekena Ibanichuka reports ahead of the Southern eastern Conference Cup Quaterfinal clash between UEL and Sussex.

UEL Women’s 1st team will be looking to book a place in the semifinals of the Southern Eastern Conference Cup when they take on Sussex Women’s 1st team at the Hackney Marshes.

Fresh off of another thumping win, this time at the expense of Buckinghamshire Women’s 1st team, UEL will be looking to continue their fine form against Sussex.

However, today’s visitors Sussex will also be hoping to provide a sterner test than recent opponents as they too aspire to secure a place in the last four.

The match is finely poised with UEL top of the Southern Eastern 3B and on the verge of winning the league while opponents Sussex, who are in the league above in the Southern eastern 2A, currently lie in second with a game in hand over league leaders Brunel 1st.

Both teams are coming off the back of big wins with UEL coming out with a 5-0 destruction of Buckinghamshire Women’s 1st team and Sussex with a 5-1 demolition away to Portsmouth 2nd.

Key Players

UEL will be hoping that forward Otesha Charles continues her devastating form as her goal scoring exploits will be key to toppling today’s visitors. Key to that will be newcomer Chantelle Campbell who has hit the ground running, dictating recent games with relative ease. Also captain Lilli Maple and Georgie Brophy will be looking to put in another dominant performance in the middle of the park.
