The young Hammers face Exeter on Wednesday night after a successful away trip to Swansea earlier in the week. That victory came thanks to a goal from Jordan Brown in the second half, to make it four wins in their last five games for the East Londoners.

The U21s look to build on a three game winning streak, during a busy period of fixtures. They face Exeter away in the U21s League Cup on Wednesday in. The tie is one of the Round 32 fixtures, but is West Ham’s first involvement of the competition and they will be expected to produce a good result against a likely weaker side.

These close set of fixtures will test the depth of Academy Manager Terry Westley’s squad with many personnel changes expected across the two games.

The squad will again be without joint leading goal scorers Elliot Lee and Martin Samuelsen who have four goals apiece this season, as they have gone on loan to Blackpool and Peterbrough United respectively until early January.

Westley has a range of options at his disposal to replace these two important players with strikers Jordan Brown, Jaanai Gordon and Luka Belic hunting for a place in the team. Jordan Brown got the nod for a starting position last game and will hope to replicate this Wednesday night.
