Holly Davies previews West Ham U-21s game against Wolverhampton Wanderers U-21s Monday evening…

The young Hammers will aim to get back to winning ways when they visit Wolves, as the team push for a play-off position.

In the previous fixture, West Ham’s eleven game unbeaten run came to an end at the hands of Swansea City. Two goals from Josh Sheehan and Adam King cancelled out Grady Diangana’s first half strike.

The loss may be a harsh result for the young team as many players were making their U-21s debut, but the young players proved themselves valuable with many regulars out on loan.

“All teams lose at one point or another, there’s no shame in our performance or result tonight, we just weren’t at the level we have been over the last few weeks and months”, Westley told West Ham’s official website.

Diangana’s first goal for the U-21s was a real boast for the youngster after already scoring seven for the U-18s and he’s likely to keep his place in Monday’s tie.

West Ham’s development manager, Terry Westley is fielding a starting eleven that consists of seven U-18s players, including captain Reece Oxford.

A younger side is expected for the remaining five games of the year with several more experienced players still out on loan until the end of the season.

Last time out, Wolves lost marginally 1-2 to Derby County after a late goal which gave The Rams all the three points.

Unlike West Ham, Wolves have included several first team players in recent games, including Jack Price, Nathan Byrne and goal scorer Liam McAlinden. Kortney Hause is also likely to cause the Hammers a few problems after being declared fit from injury.

Despite Wolves being 11th in the table and 16 points from a play off spot, West Ham will still need to be on their guard and not take them for granted.
