UEL are hoping to turn it around after a straight set defeat at the hands of the University of Exeter. They prepare to face the Champions, The University of Essex, in the final league match of the season. On Wednesday, the 15th February at the University of Essex Sports Centre.

Winning-Streak

The Blues were in fine form prior to Wednesday’s defeat, which brought an end to their five-match winning-streak. Their loss also crowned Essex Champions.

This means UEL will finish the season in second place as the Blues currently trail Essex, by six points.

Last season’s Premier South Eastern 1A Champions, Essex won their opening eight matches consecutively in their debut season in the Premier South division, including a 3-1 victory against UEL at SportsDock in October.

Had UEL managed to defeat Exeter in straight sets, they had a chance to leapfrog their Essex opponents and become Champions. However the defeat cemented their second-placed position in the Premier South.

Preparation

The Blues will be hoping to end the regular season on a high and set them up in preparation for the Final 8s in Bournemouth in early March.

UEL face Essex at 4:30 on Wednesday 15th February at Essex Sports Centre, there is a live stream available which will be shared out of the UEL Volleyball Club Facebook Page.
