Young O’s Ready For Youth Cup Challenge

Holly Davies previews Leyton Orients next FA Youth Cup test.

Leyton Orient U18s are preparing for the second round of the FA Youth Cup this coming Tuesday (15th November), after a first round 6-0 demolition against Southend United they now travel to Poole Town.

Richard Thomas’s side have been on great form as of late, being undefeated in all competitions. The first round win at league rivals Southend only added to the O’s dominance this season as they secured the win in the first 45 minutes.

Dominant start

The O’s are on excellent scoring form and after putting six past the Blues they are expected to ease past the non-league side who made it through to this stage having beaten Gloucester City 4-0 away from home.

The young O’s were dumped out of the competition at this stage last season as they were defeated by rivals Luton Town who went on to the quarter finals.

Well Rested

As Orient had an extra week to prepare for the tie after their league match against Gillingham was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, Thomas is expected to field his strongest 11 as the side is without recent injuries.

Having dropped points for the first time this season away to Cambridge the O’s will be determined to get back to winning ways.

If the Leyton Orient come away with the victory they will travel to Premier league side Leicester City in the third round.

The game is due to be played at Poole’s Tatnam Ground, with admission prices as follows: Adults                       £5 Concessions              £3 Under-13s                 £1
