University of East London Badminton Men’s 1st will be gearing up to take on Kingston University Men’s 2nd at Sportsdock in a break from league action, as they meet in the first round of the South-Eastern Conference cup.
Speaking of the upcoming game, UEL captain, Ali Chin spoke enthusiastically about his satisfaction with the team: “I’m happy with how training has gone.” Chin also expressed his avidness to use new tactics and said: “I can’t wait to try out our new tactics in our cup game”.
Advantage
Kingston sit in fourth place in the South Eastern 5A table with three points after their first game, due to a walkover. This was because the University of Greenwich were unable to field a team. UEL will be keen to take advantage of Kingston’s lack of game time in the upcoming encounter.
Playing two divisions higher than their opponents, UEL will have the advantage as they have experience playing at a better standard. With Jamaicani International and 2020 Olympic hopeful Sean Wilson in great form it adds more pressure on the South-West London based team.
After UEL won the 2016/2017 South Eastern 4B title, UEL should have the confidence and psychological edge in this match up. There will be an unchanged lineup from the last match.
