The Phoenix overcame adversity and showed why they have potential to be one of the best in the division when they shut out the Greenwich Mariners 21-0 following their devastating defeat against Queen Mary University.

Amazing Start

It was the perfect chance for the Phoenix to dust off the heartbreak they faced the week prior as they turned their attention to the Greenwich Mariners. Greenwich were winless heading into the game whilst the Phoenix were 1-1.

In the end, the Phoenix proved to be the better team as they were too strong for the Mariners having shut them out 21-0. A strong defensive performance allowed the Phoenix to put out a strong offensive performance and finish the game on a high note.

Teammate Praise

Quarterback Jeremy Snyder had strong praise for his defence: “We are paired with an excellent defence that pitched a shutout against Greenwich. They make our job a whole lot easier.”

As well praise for his defence, Jeremy also had admiration for his wide receivers: “The receivers on this team have already made major impacts to the game. That unit is composed of explosive playmakers that can score every time they touch the ball.”

Looking Ahead

The Phoenix now head into the bye week with a record of 2-1 and will look for revenge when they face Queen Mary University after their previous heart-breaking defeat.
