What influences your style?

Because I live in Amsterdam now my style … it’s very chilling: casual but also a little bit dressed up. So it’s like having a little bit of that dressy edge but then throwing on some sneakers or something like that.

What advice would you give to influencers starting out?

Stay genuine, stay authentic to yourself but don’t worry… about taking the best photo or showing the best part of you. Try to show the behind-the-scenes… goofy parts – the fun parts, the things that people who are following you can resonate with and see themselves in… rather than just copying everyone else pictures.

What got you into fashion?

I loved fashion at a young age, then looked into studying it at uni. I liked styling myself but that’s not something you can really do as a uni degree. Then fell into doing YouTube and… Instagram… and now I’m here.

What influences your style?

I’m that person that can be pink and frilly and then the next day it’s completely different. So I do probably pick things up from Instagram and magazines, just like everybody else does. But I’m also that person that’s like “oh it’s pretty it’s sparkly I think I’ll go with that one”. I do think it’s very important to like who you are and… your own fashion sense grows over time.

How long have you been blogging?

Like a year now, so I’m still a baby!

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I do think there’s a lot of questions about what bloggers are going to do and how we’re going to end up and what’s going to happen with the industry. But I think it’s gonna continue growing and brands are going to get involved… I have a few plans away from blogging which is more like writing a book or something like that. But I feel that comes out of doing YouTube and something a bit more personal rather than just fashion.

Is being a blogger competitive?

So people think that the blogging industry and the YouTube industry would be really catty and like everyone out for themselves but I don’t really think it’s like that because, for example, one of my best friends is a blogger and we help each other out. So I think you get bitchy people everywhere you go. I don’t think it really matters what career you’re in your gonna find them.

What advice would you give to influencers starting out?

Be yourself. The more weird the better.

Mossonyi is a well-established influencer on both YouTube and Instagram

What got you into fashion?

I think for me it was more discovering my love for photography and then I started exploring my style in fashion.

What influences your style?

I do like the bohemian chic sort of look. Also the 70s groovy look, and I do love hats.

How long have you been blogging?

I’ve been blogging for 6 years now, since 2012.

Where will you be in five years time?

Probably owning my own creative studio where I do photography and create a context for other brands.

What advice would you give to influencers starting out?

Don’t be afraid to try new things out. Don’t stick with what you know – assume you know nothing. Learn other skills like photography, storytelling and writing. That’s gonna come in handy because at some point the market is going to become very saturated so the skills you have will keep you going forward. Can you become a writer for a huge magazine or could you go and be a creative director for a huge brand? So, build on other skills besides showing off your look.

What got you into fashion?

I’ve always been interested… probably since I was a teenager. I was always on things like Tumblr before Instagram or Pinterest ever existed.

What influences your style?

My style is probably based on the 60s. I’m really inspired by old school icons like Andy Warhol, Edie Sedgwick, Aubrey Hepburn, Francoise Hardy.

How long have you been blogging for?

I’ve channelled all my energy into it probably for the past three years now.

Where will you be in five years time?

I hope to be in the same industry. There’s a lot of different routes and avenues you can take. I’ve recently been asked to do a stylist job so maybe that’s something I could pursue.

What advice would you give to influencers starting out?

I think I only really started growing when I stopped trying to follow trends … that didn’t necessarily suit me. I found out what looks best on me, what I’m into and then I went down that route. The only way to kinda get ahead is to be as individual as you can and be yourself.
