It’s midweek action in the Isthmian Premier Division this week, as Cheshunt make the journey round to the Essex/East London border to take on high-flyers Hornchurch in a pivotal clash for both sides.

The Urchins come into this game sitting fourth in the league. Following their 4-0 win over Enfield Town on Saturday, which saw all their goals come within the first 35 minutes it now see’s the hosts home form make seriously impressive reading, they’ve played 13 League games at ‘Hornchurch stadium’, winning nine and drawing four, meaning they have not lost at home in the league all season.

Relegation

The Ambers on the other hand, have played 11 away fixtures, having won only twice on the road this season, one in September, a 2-1 win over Bognor Regis Town, and one in January, beating fellow relegation rivals Wingate & Finchley 2-1 also, but this means that they have lost 8 of the 11 away fixtures, showing two very contrasting sides to the form scale heading into this one. The visitors have lost three of their last four league encounters too, with the most recent now being a 3-1 home defeat to Leatherhead on Saturday with the 1-1 draw with Bowers and Pitsea on Tuesday, their only league point since beating Wingate and Finchley on the 11th January.

Tough

Speaking after the Leatherhead defeat, Craig Edwards said “We’ve got a really really tough game on Tuesday against a really really top side in Hornchurch. If we can perform like we did for the majority of the Worthing game, we’ll be a tough test but if we play like we did today, the ref will have to stop the contest! But I hope today is hurting the players as much as it’s hurting me, and that the 16 we pick on Tuesday, the starters and subs will all bust every gut they’ve got to get us a result”.

The dangerman for The Hosts is frontman, Chris Dickson who has bagged a hugely impressive 22 goals in 33 appearances this season, also one to keep an eye out for is Adam Cunnington. The former Cambridge United and Billericay Town frontman recently linked up with The Urchins, and bagged his first goal in the 4-0 home demolition of Enfield on Saturday. The Ambers will be thankful that Ryan Moss is back in the goals, notching the consolation on Saturday, bringing him up to nine goals this season, moving him to the top of the Ambers goalscoring charts.
