The FA have recently announced the Vitality Women’s FA Cup will resume after 29th March, with Leyton Orient WFC’s tie away to Hounslow Women rescheduled for 4th April.

The original date for the tie was set for 3rd January. However, these plans were swiftly halted due to the third national lockdown.

Last Fixture

The rescheduled tie will see the O’s return after a lengthy spell out of action.

Their last fixture before lockdown was on 13th December against Actonians, where Orient won 2-1 in a game which was also their last FA Cup outing.

After initially trailing in the game, second half added-time goals from Egle Trezzi and Scarlett Smith sealed a dramatic victory for the O’s.

Orient manager, Chris Brayford and his side will be hoping for another spirited performance when they travel to Hounslow Women, in a month’s time.

Next Rounds

In order for clubs to prepare for subsequent rounds of the competition, the draw for the third and fourth round stages have already been made.

Should Orient progress from the second round, they will have a home tie in the third round. Possible opponents for this tie include Chichester & Selsey Ladies, Kent Football United LFC and Enfield Town LFC.

Providing their cup run continues further, the O’s will then be rewarded with a trip to Women’s Super League side, West Ham United.

Government Go-ahead

To ensure the health and safety of all participants involved, the progression of the competition for all clubs will be subject to ongoing government guidance.
