Blackheath currently stand at the summit of the table and will be brimming with confidence when they take on the surprise package from this season.

Chinnor only achieved promotion from National League 2 South after a second-place finish behind Cinderford. They currently sit fourth in the table, just four points behind Blackheath and have impressive wins over Ampthill and Cambridge.

The shining light in Chinnor’s season so far has been their away from, winning five of the seven games they have played on the road, only taking losses to Rotherham and Loughborough Students.

For Blackheath, the story is a similar one, winning five of their six home games, losing their only game back in September against Old Elthamians who currently sit second.

Recent Form

In their last five games, Blackheath are unbeaten. Both Sale FC and Loughborough were beaten convincingly with Blackheath securing bonus points in both games. Away from home, Blackheath have had a tougher time. Beating Bishop’s Stortford 15-16 last time out completed an unbeaten run which included a hard fought win against Sale FC and a thrilling 22-22 draw against Cinderford.

For Chinnor, results are similar. At home, Chinnor secured a win against Sale FC, but drew a nail-biting contest with Rosslyn Park which went down to the wire and eventually finished 33-33. On the road, Chinnor gathered momentum with wins over Darlington Mowden Park and Birmingham Mosely, but were on the wrong end of another high scoring match last time out, suffering a 48-46 loss to bottom side Loughborough Students.

Blackheath will begin the game as favourites and will be keen to put distance between themselves and Old Elthamians, who travel to Cinderford.

The game kicks off at Well Hall at 3pm.
