Millwall will be looking to iron out the lapses in defence which saw them lose 4-3 away to Norwich in the closing stages before the international break, as they host Bolton Wanderers at The Den on Saturday afternoon.

Millwall’s form on the road is much different to their home form which has seen them remain unbeaten in their last four games at The Den.

Happy At Home

Even after losing their last two games away against Brentford and Norwich respectively, the Lions will cause plenty of problems for any side that visits The Den this season with their stronger home form.

Millwall will be hoping their home form can steer them away from the relegation zones which sees them sitting on the line above the three places in 21st.

Bolton Wanderers have struggled to pick up any kind of form recently, with their last win coming on 29th September at home to Derby County. The Trotters are winless in their last seven matches, picking up only one point.

A decent start to the season for the Lancashire side saw them propelled to the dizzy heights at the top of the championship, but this run has seen them drop to 23rd in the table.

Head To Head

Previous meetings have seen Bolton become a bogey team for the Lions, with Millwall only winning two of the last ten meetings. On the other hand, the Trotters have won five of the last ten.

When it comes to last season, the Lions came out on top away at the Macron Stadium 2-0, but only managed a 1-1 draw at The Den.

Goalkeeper Shake Up

Millwall will hope that either stand-in goalkeeper Jordan Archer or David Martin will make the difference this weekend, as number one goalkeeper Ben Amos is on loan from Bolton and cannot play against his parent club.

Speaking to NewsAtDen, Lions boss Neil Harris had a few words to say on his two back-up goalkeepers: “Jordan (Archer) and David (Martin) are fighting tooth and nail to be involved. They’ve both been training fantastically well, very, very professional, both of them.”

Sammy Ameobi has returned from a two-month injury spell on the side-lines and his creativity and drive has certainly been missed with Bolton not winning since his unfortunate time out of the team.

Both sides sit right in the doldrums at the bottom of the Championship and need a turn in fortunes to see their plight changed. Goal difference is all that separates these sides and this match could be massively important if they want to steer clear of the relegation zones.

With six points separating 13th and 23rd, this match could really change the landscape at the bottom of the Championship.
