Dagenham & Redbridge make the short trip down to Bromley this Saturday in search of their fourth win from five games as they continue their battle out of the relegation zone.

Rediscovering and Improving

Dagenham’s recent rise to form has been a boost for the club. Boss Peter Taylor has brought in a host of new players since the investment from Victoria Road Football LLC, including Connor Wilkinson, Angelo Balanta and Emmanuel Onariase.

Speaking on the Daggers rediscovered form, Taylor said: “Slowly but surely we are improving as a team. If we can get two wins every three games we know we can climb up the table and into safety.

“Bromley is going to be slightly different for the players as we’re playing on the 4G pitch but we’ll come in Monday morning and prepare well.”

Winning Antics

The Daggers welcomed promotion contenders AFC Fylde to the Chigwell Construction Stadium last week and it looked to be a bad day at the office, getting off to a nightmare start when experienced midfielder Andy Bond pounced on an Onariase block to slot in at close range.

Taylor’s men showed great character however, battling back from behind to beat the high flyers 2-1 with goals from Wilkinson, on his debut, and Jack Munns handing Fylde their first away loss of the season and ensuring the Londonders climbed to within one point of exiting the relegation zone.

Struggling Ravens

Bromley returned to league action last week after crashing out of the FA Cup to League 1 side Peterborough United, before they came up against league leaders Leyton Orient last Saturday. Neil Smith’s men looked promising in the first half and headed into the second leading by a goal to nil.

That was quickly undone however when early in the second half a quickfire double from Jobi McAnuff and Josh Koroma put the hosts into the lead before Macauley Bonne sealed the visitors’ fate to end the match 3-1.

The Ravens have had an inconsistent season so far and have been unable to find a firm run of form, losing three of their last five matches and failing to find results against strugglers Braintree Town, Dover Athletic and Maidenhead United.

They can however, pride themselves on their goalscoring ability, netting more than any team outside the top six with 30 goals so far this campaign.

Important Game

The match is arguably Dagenham’s biggest of the season so far as they move within an arm’s length of finally exiting the relegation zone. A point may be enough for them to achieve that but there’s no doubt they’ll be hunting for all three, a result that could potentially see them move up four places.

Bromley on the other hand will be looking to head further up the table and assert a comfortable run of form that could possibly put them in a play off position come next April, as they look to inject some life into their so far sedentary season.
