FA Trophy action hits Theobald’s Lane for the first time this season, as The Ambers and The Rocks lock horns on Saturday in a FA Trophy First Qualifying Round match.
The Ambers will still be reeling from their 2-1 derby defeat to Enfield Town at the weekend, while their visitors went down 4-1 to league leaders Folkestone Invicta on Tuesday night.
Cheshunt star man, Dipo Akinyemi will be looking to bow out from his loan to Cheshunt, as it is likely that he will be heading back to Dulwich Hamlet over the next week or so, providing his loan isn’t extended. Akinyemi has five goals for Cheshunt, making him the clubs’ top scorer so far this season.
The two clubs have already faced off once in the league, with ‘The Rocks’ running out 4-1 winners on the opening day of the season, with , Ben Marlow, Alex Clark and Frankie Merrifield scoring twice for East Thurrock, with the now departed Brian Moses, scoring for the Ambers.
It promises to be an enticing encounter as the Ambers will hope to put their four-game losing streak behind them, while both sides will be looking to progress further in the FA Trophy this season, as the ‘Road to Wembley’ starts here for both clubs.
